Biography
On the 3rd October 2008 John was made a Minister in the Whip's Office and given the official role of Comptroller of Her Majesty's Household. John has previously served in the government as Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Minister for Transport and Minister for Northern Ireland. John was Opposition Whip with responsibility for Employment, Trade and Industry and Parliamentary Business from 1992-1994.
