INCREASE IN FUNDING FOR COUNCIL AND SOCIAL HOUSING

2nd July 2009

The increase in funding for Council housing and social housing announced by the Government this week has been welcomed by Warley MP John Spellar.

 John Spellar MP said:-

 “This is welcome news and I will be working with the Council and Sandwell Homes to make sure Sandwell gets it fair share.  I am also pleased that the Government are following Sandwell’s lead in giving greater priority to length of time on the waiting list.   In addition I welcome the opportunity for the Council to take account of family ties in housing allocations as nearby family support is so important for many families.”
