Smart Ticketing in the West Midlands

17th December 2009

Government support to bring smart ticketing to the West Midlands has been welcomed by Warley MP John Spellar.

The Transport Secretary, Andrew Adonis, has announced £20 million to bring smart tickets like London’s Oyster Cards to England’s main cities, including the West Midlands.

John Spellar MP said:-

“The Oyster Card has worked well for Londoners, but I always wanted it for the Midlands.  I am delighted the Transport Department is making that money available and hope Midlands Councils will get this moving.”
